sorry to all who were looking forward to the pics …. it is equally as potong stim for me and my team too… .nevermind , there must be a reason why we couldn’t do it on 1st May.
UPDATE 1st May: Ben and I decided to go to the botanical gardens just to practice some macro work early in the morning. In the end we had to go back home coz it rained shortly after we got there. So I guess it was never meant to happen even if our ‘client’ didn’t post pone it, the rain would have prevented us from shooting on 1st May.

Hi everybody. Here’s the moment you’ve been waiting for…. Reuben & Joanne’s prewedding shoot.
Weeks of preparation went into this, from my initial conversation with Reuben to check lists and numerous team discussions to make this a success. I must admit … I was quite stressed out as the date drew nearer. Finally we did it last Saturday, on 18 April 2009. Armed with fresh new knowledge on creative lighting and tips from the sifus like Louis Pang and Malcolm Foo…. I was eager to test them out on my “guinea pigs” hehehe!
Reuben is a dear old friend of mine and I was totally thrilled to be able to do this for him and Joanne. Reuben & Joanne, I am so happy you found love and are on your way to tie the knot. You guys are indeed a match made in heaven!
We targetted Wisma Yeap Chor Ee on China Street Ghaut and Pantai Miami as our scenery. We prayed real hard for clear blue skies and also prayed hard that there aren’t any cars parked along Wisma Yeap Chor Ee ,… That would proove to be quite a challenge to remove a whole car off the photo with software … God was good to us, when I turned in to China Street Ghaut…. no cars parked along side the building!! The sky was beautifully blue and “painted” with beautiful clouds.
My greatest fear was to end up producing dissapointing photos … However, mustering up my courage and swallowing my fears, my team mates and I went through the shoot with great fun and laughter! Reuben & Joanne is such a lovely couple. The chemistry between them made it easy for us to capture the emo and the moments.

Wah!! like Superman & Lois Lane flying in the sky
*music playing* Can you read my mind? Do you know what it is you do to me? Don’t know who you are Just a friend from another star … (superman movie sound track)

Last but not least, special thanks to my team members Ben, Jason and Vian. It wouldn’t have been possible without you guys!
We DID IT!!!!

I was told by my friend that Louis Pang is in town on Saturday (yesterday) to give a talk on photography during Bripex 2009 in PISA. I have been following his work on his website and like many others have been wowed by his photos. I made plans to attend it even though it would probably be a preview to his coming workshop in May 09. I thought it would be worth while to pick up a couple of photography ‘kungfu’ tips from the man himself. Louis in an instant is what Simon Cowell would categorize as ‘likeable’. He has unique ability to connect with people instantly.

Anybody can lend me their camera? I didn't bring mine today

The crowd was a little reluctant. Why? Don't trust Louis with your baby?

Crane kungfu

Snake kungfu. Never shoot your flash like this!

If you point your flash straight up, it'll comeback n give you panda eyes like this ...

This is how I point my flash most of the time

this is how u get the ladies to show some 'curves'

Always give the guys something to lean on. He'll be most comfortable. Are you comfortable? yeah cool..

If my subject was Yao Ming! I'd get him to sit down

Ladies & gentlemen. THE man himself, Louis Pang!
At the end of the short lecture, I gained a few valuable tips which I can try out practically in my next assignment. I certainly didn’t go home empty handed.
Thank you very much Louis! It was a real pleasure to meet you in person!

Blessed Easter to you! Let us remember Christ’s death and resurrection during this Easter season.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Romans 1:4-5
And Jesus Christ our Lord was shown to be the Son of God when God powerfully raised him from the dead by means of the Holy Spirit. Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

End of 2008 I decided to try an experiment…. to see if my photos would sell on Ebay, where by the buyer will get a full resolution unwatermarked file. To my great surprise, within a day of posting up a myriad of my better photos from my Turkey trip, a photo got sold (the trojan horse head was the first to get sold)! Followed by more photos sold in the days to come! That time I have only been tinkering with my D90 for less than 3 months. It certainly gave me the encouragement charge to keep improving my skills.
Here are some of the photos that were successfully sold on ebay.
